Biography

I never, in a million years, thought I’d ever leave the country of my birth, Norway. Though after meeting the wonderful man I knew was the one for me, I found myself having to rethink some things. After deciding to marry the man of my dreams well over a decade ago, my American-born husband and I moved to the United States to start our lives together. We settled in the Midwest. As the years went by, we were blessed with three delightful kids.

I am currently living my dream of becoming a stay-at-home mom, and enjoy the domestic life of cooking, baking, gardening, and in general taking care of my household.

We rarely eat out, so I spend a good amount of time in the kitchen. I enjoy both cooking and baking, though there are busy days when I’d rather not have to cook at all and a pizza is just the thing. Dinner-making can sometimes have a bit of an everyday aspect to it; it’s a necessity whether you want to cook or not, and trying to come up with a variety of easy, healthy meals that everyone enjoys can be a challenge. Therefore, finding a special, new recipe to try can be mighty exciting, especially when it ends up being fairly quick and easy, healthy, and something everyone ends up loving.

Baking is still my real passion. I could bake every day if I had the time and enough people around me to enjoy eating it all. Vegetable gardening is a relatively new hobby for me, though I have learned a lot since I got started two years ago with vegetables in-ground instead of just pots on my deck. I also enjoy singing, reading, and spending time with my family. I am by nature a real home body, though traveling to Norway is something I always look forward to.
